Dear 2e2,

Dont forget to do your assignment!!!

For those who has forgotten what is it about, here's some info.

Imagine you are the teacher now! Set 3 to 5 questions for your students to practise for their coming test. The topic with be on Equation of straight lines. [ Remember, we always represent straight lines in the form of y = mx+c. ]

Anything to refer to? Well, you can always refer to the thick stack of worksheets.. worksheet 1 has couple of examples. Your notebook should also contain some questions. Textbooks, assessment books as well as Ace-learning are also good sources of reference! [please do not copy]

Here's an example of a simple question...
Given that a line has a gradient of 5 and cuts y-axis at y = -2, write down the equation of the line.

A more difficult question will be something like this...
Given that a line passes through the points (0,4) and (1,6), write down its equation.

You can also try out tricky questions like ...
A line passes through (1,2) and (3,4). It cuts the x-axis and y-axis at x=-1 and y=1 respectively. Find the equation of the line.

There are many other types of questions available in the sources i mentioned above, please go through them.

Now, of course, after you set the questions, please provide me the workings and solutions. Please be neat, as neat as possible. You can decorate the paper if you want to.

After marking your assignment, i will type all questions in this blog and your peers will have the luxury of trying out 100 other questions. With such resources, those who try will definitely build a strong foundation on finding equations! IF you do not wish to share your questions, please let me know, i will respect your decision. :)

If you have any queries, please ask me via the blog. Thanks!

Reminder: Your homework is to be submitted to Zi Qin on Monday, even though there is no Maths. Assignment is due Tuesday, also to Zi Qin. I will check everyone's notebook on Wed, so please transfer all your notes to the book.
